HUNDREDS of readers "lapped" up the chance to win our super Sony computer.
The Sony Vaio laptop computer boasts a Dual Core Processor, built in WIFI, 15.4in screen, 250GB hard drive, 2GB RAM, Windows Vista Home Edition, wireless USB mouse, Premium laptop bag – as well as a one-year service agreement with SmartFixIT.

Claire Wardle, the newspaper sales manager at the Scarborough Evening News, said that the response had been fantastic. She said: “I haven’t counted them yet but from experience, having a rough guess, there are between 800 and 1,000 entries – which is absolutely fantastic.

“We normally have a good response but this is about the same as we had for the ‘win fuel for a year’ or ‘win a car’ competitions. This isn’t as high a value prize but it shows our readers are in the business of keeping up with new technology.”

The prize winner will be announced shortly.
