MORE than 600 tickets have already been sold for this year's Scarborough Jazz Festival, which features a top line-up of international artists and regional talent.
Organisers are now getting into full swing for the sixth annual festival at the Spa, from September 26-28.

Programme organiser Mike Gordon said: "The ticket sales are just astounding us and they're way ahead than any previous year.

"This is by far the best programme we've ever had, with a mix of well established and world famous performers as well as young bands who have been winning awards for their exciting and creative work."

Highlights of the festival include Clare Teal, the Guy Barker Jazz Orchestra, Courtney Pine and Claire Martin.

Two free events are on the Friday with the Alcyona Mick Quintet and ensemble Free Spirits.

There are also several fringe events with trumpeter Damon Brown, the Eastern Area Schools Youth Jazz Orchestra and Rob Lavers Quartet.
