SCARBOROUGH'S Aberdeen Walk will be filled with colour again this week for the annual Gardeners' Pride display.
Three showcase gardens, measuring around 10ft by 18ft, are being constructed by Scarborough Council’s parks and countryside services department near the junction with Westborough. The finished results will be available to see from Friday until Monday.

The trio of gardens will be based on a pub garden, a guest house or hotel garden and a residential front garden.

Roger Burnett, parks and countryside services manager, said: “We are delighted to be holding this exhibition again, which means so much to so many.

“We’re hoping to inspire people with a cross-section of gardens, with something for everyone.”

People will once again be able to cast their vote for their favourite gardens and meet members of Scarborough in Bloom.

Mr Burnett and gardening expert Ron Womack will also be on hand to offer gardening tips and advice.

Mr Burnett added: “Not only are we hoping to inspire residents, we are also hoping to help raise the profile of our Best Kept Gardens competition and encourage even more entries.

“This year we have been delighted with nearly 200 entries but we know there are still so many hidden gems out there that we would like to discover.”

What do you think of the displays, and the efforts of the parks and countryside staff?
