SCARBOROUGH youngsters have given the town centre some flower power after planting hundreds of daffodil bulbs at the top of Alma Square.
The children from 46th Scarborough, Westborough Scout Group had help from the council's parks and countryside services team to make a difference to the environment.
The activity linked into the overall Challenge programmes for the Cub and Beaver sections including the conservation aspect of the Global Challenge and the Community Challenge's involvement with other organisations.
Roger Burnett, the council's parks and countryside manager, said: "The involvement of youngsters is of key importance not only because they are an important part of our community but also because they are our future and if we can help them to learn to love Scarborough's environment from an early age then so much the better.
"All our staff really enjoy getting involved with our community and we are already looking forward to seeing this new daffodil planting beautifying our town next spring."
