Light aircraft crashes off Robin Hood's Bay: wreckage found VIDEO

A LIGHT aircraft has plunged into the sea off Robin Hood's Bay. Emergency services including RAF Sea King helicopters, a police helicopter, lifeboats, coastguard officers, and police on foot.
The search for survivors began at around 4.20pm when the Humber Coastguard recieved doznes of calls from worried witnesses.
The aircraft is believed to be a Piper 38, and it is believed the plane wreckage has now been found, in about 21ft of water.
Holidaymaker Sean Flesher, of Yeadon, near Leeds, was in the Bay Hotel overlooking the sea when he saw the crash.
He said: "I saw a light aircraft heading into the bay. I thought it was going to disappear around the headland as it was flying so low. The next thing I saw it had plunged into the water."
The rescue operation was headed by Humber Coastguard, who scrambled teams from RAF Leconfield, in Lincolnshire, and RAF Boulmer, in Northumberland, to assist.
